BDS: Amerikaans pensioenfonds trekt zich terug uit Caterpillar

De Amerikanse pensioengigant  TIAA-CREF’s Social Choice Funds hebben op 21 juni investeringen ter waarde van 72,9 miljoen dollar onttrokken aan het bedrijf Caterpillar, dat onder meer bulldozers levert aan Israel, waarmee Palestijnse huizen en andere bezittingen mee worden gesloopt...

Tijdens die conferentie bediscussieerden vertegenwoordigers van de bij COSATU aangesloten bonden internationale thema's .

Over plundering van Palestina door bedrijven

Actie voor Palestijnse voetbal-international Mahmoud Sarsak op FNV-dag

Er was een korte actie 'in het teken van voetbal' op de FNV-dag voor Internationale Solidariteit, woensdag 13 juni in Nieuwegein. De actie was voor de Palestijnse voetbal-international Mahmoud Sarsak, die op sterven ligt na ruim 80 dagen hongerstaking.
Mahmoud Sarsak wordt al bijna drie jaar door Israel gevangen gehouden zonder vorm van proces (zie hier), en hij is er één uit velen.

Amnesty International voert ook actie voor deze en dit soort kwesties.

De wereldbond voor beroepsvoetballers pleit voor de vrijlating van Mahmoud Sarsak, zie hier.

Op de solidariteitsdag werd in de stand en in de workshop van de Palestinawerkgroep meer informatie gegeven over de actie, over de olijfboomcampagne (met dit ABVAKABO-bericht) en over de vakbondsreis.

Palestijnse vakbeweging solidair met de Europese vakbonden
