One year ago, Israel launched a brutal military attack
on the Palestinian population of the occupied and besieged Gaza Strip. More
than 2,200 Palestinians were killed, including 551 children. More than
10,000 people were seriously injured and hundreds of thousands were made
homeless, forcibly displaced and trapped inside Gaza. Israel has still
not been held accountable.
Palestinian oppression and dispossession continues to
intensify under Israel’s brutal regime of apartheid and settler
colonialism.
But ten years after its launch on July 9 2005, BDS is a
key and growing source of inspiration for the Palestinian people. Our
grassroots movement is more widely supported than ever and it is having a
real impact.
The Palestinian BDS National Committee has published a
number of items marking the 10th anniversary of the BDS call:
2. A report from a
press conference we held this morning in Ramallah for international and
local journalists.
3. A statement titled One year since Israel’s Gaza
massacre and ten years since the launch of the BDS movement: building the
boycott is more important than ever.
Please join us in marking BDS@10 by viewing and sharing
these new publications.
The Palestinian BDS National Committee deeply appreciates
the tireless efforts of BDS activists and BDS supporting organisations
around the world. You inspire us and give us hope.
Ten years after the launch of BDS, isolating Israel’s
regime has become more crucial than ever and more realistic than ever. We
shall overcome.
